1. Overview
This Privacy Policy applies to the HeyClover service, including our website, text-message experience, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). The Service is operated by JeffKho LLC (“HeyClover,” “Clover,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
Clover is designed to help families make decisions by using family context, preferences, schedules, and prior decisions that users choose to share with us.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Account and contact information, such as your name, phone number, email address, and household role.
- Family context, such as household members, schedules, preferences, constraints, routines, family decision principles, and other details you choose to provide.
- Messages and decision content, including questions you send to Clover, information exchanged while working through a decision, and the outcome of that decision.
- Feedback and support information, such as messages you send us about the Service.
Information collected automatically
When you use our website or messaging service, we may collect basic technical information such as IP address, browser or device type, timestamps, message delivery status, diagnostic logs, and similar information needed to operate and secure the Service.
Information from connected services
If you choose to connect a calendar, contacts provider, or another third-party service in the future, we may receive information from that service according to the permissions you grant. We will explain the relevant permissions before a connection is enabled.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- provide and operate Clover;
- understand the family context relevant to a question or decision;
- help users compare options and reason through tradeoffs;
- remember prior decisions and user-supplied preferences so future interactions can begin with more context;
- deliver and troubleshoot text messages and other communications;
- protect the Service against abuse, fraud, and security threats;
- improve reliability, usability, and product quality; and
- comply with legal obligations.
4. SMS and Mobile Information
If you provide your mobile number and opt in to receive text messages from Clover, we may use that number to deliver the Service, respond to your requests, send account or service messages, and provide other communications you specifically request.
Message frequency varies based on how often you interact with Clover. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP to opt out of SMS messages and HELP for help. Opting out of SMS may prevent you from using portions of the Service that depend on text messaging.
5. Family and Children’s Information
The Service is currently intended for use by adults, including parents and legal guardians. Adults may choose to provide information about children or other household members so Clover can understand family context.
We ask adults to share only information they are authorized to provide. Children should not independently create accounts or directly submit personal information to Clover unless we introduce a child-facing feature with an appropriate parental consent process.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to us without appropriate authorization, contact us at privacy@heyclover.com so we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.
6. AI and Service Providers
Clover may use artificial intelligence models and other service providers to process messages, family context, and related information in order to generate responses and provide the Service. These providers may include cloud hosting, database, telecommunications, messaging, analytics, security, and AI infrastructure providers.
We provide service providers only the information reasonably necessary for them to perform services on our behalf and require them to handle information under appropriate contractual and security obligations.
We may change providers as the Service evolves. If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will update this policy as appropriate.
7. How We Share Information
We may share information in the following circumstances:
- With your family or household, when the Service is configured as a shared family experience and you direct or reasonably expect information to be available to other authorized household members.
- With service providers, as described above, to operate the Service.
- For legal and safety reasons, when reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce our terms, protect users, or protect the rights, safety, and security of HeyClover or others.
- In a business transaction, such as a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law.
We do not sell personal information or mobile opt-in information.
8. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain family context and decision history, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the Service.
Because memory is a core part of Clover’s usefulness, some family context and decision history may remain stored until you request deletion or close your account. We may retain limited records after deletion when required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or recordkeeping purposes.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no system can guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for maintaining control of devices, phone numbers, email accounts, and other credentials used to access Clover. Because Clover may contain sensitive family context, use appropriate device security and notify us promptly if you believe your access has been compromised.
10. Your Privacy Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live and the laws that apply to us, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of certain personal information. You may also have the right to object to or limit certain processing.
You can also:
- reply STOP to opt out of SMS messaging;
- disconnect optional integrations;
- ask us to correct inaccurate family information; and
- request deletion of your account and associated family data, subject to legal retention requirements.
To make a privacy request, contact privacy@heyclover.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service changes. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the Service, by text or email where appropriate, or by updating the “Last updated” date above.
